Uzbekistan SIM card from the UAE: Beeline Hello, IMEI or an eSIM

How to get mobile data in Uzbekistan from the UAE: for a short trip, a data eSIM on Unitel installed before you fly, 1GB for 7 days at AED 14.99 (Uzbekistan eSIM plans). On your UAE line, du postpaid charges AED 70.00 for 5GB a week (19 Oct 2026). Beeline’s Hello SIM sells data from 10,000 UZS, but a phone on a local SIM needs IMEI registration at 88,000 UZS (beeline.uz, uzimei.uz, 19 Oct 2026).

Beeline, Ucell or an eSIM: which works for a trip to Uzbekistan?

Beeline is the only operator we found with an Uzbekistan SIM card plan written for foreigners, its Hello range (Beeline, 19 Oct 2026). Ucell’s tariff page lists no tourist plan, and Mobiuz keeps its “Tourist SIM” in the tariff archive (Mobiuz, 19 Oct 2026). That leaves Beeline, a data eSIM or a pack on your UAE line.

Travel eSIM from this site from AED 14.99 by card; from AED 4.75 per GB An eSIM phone that is not locked to one operator Data only: no calls or SMS on your UAE number

Pack prices as listed by e&, du and Virgin Mobile on 19 Oct 2026; AED per GB is our derivation (price ÷ GB). eSIM prices are in AED at the day’s rate: your card is charged exactly that amount.

Two questions settle it: how many days, and do you need an Uzbek number? Under two weeks with no local number, a data eSIM set up in the UAE covers it. A month or more, or a number for local calls, points to Beeline, plus the IMEI step below. Your UAE line works too, at the weekly prices further down.

What do Beeline’s Hello plans for foreigners cost?

Beeline’s Hello rates are 0 UZS a minute for incoming calls, 300 UZS a minute for local calls, 300 UZS per local SMS and 225 UZS per MB of internet, VAT included (Beeline, 19 Oct 2026). At that rate 1GB costs over 225,000 UZS (our arithmetic), so data is bought as an add-on, from 10,000 UZS.

Beeline add-onDaysUZSUZS per GB, our arithmetic
4GB110,0002,500
1.5GB710,000about 6,670
3.5GB720,000about 5,710

10GB + 5GB YouTube bonus3050,0005,000
150GB + 75GB bonus30150,0001,000

Beeline lists eleven add-ons; these are six of them. The per-GB column counts the main data only, not the bonus.

Two terms limit the plan. It “is valid only on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and is not valid in international roaming”, and its fee and limits are “actual during 90 days since the first day of SIM card connection”. The page text does not show the monthly fee of the Hello plans themselves, so we quote none. For foreign citizens, Beeline’s document list names an “international passport and IPIN (if available)” or a residence permit. We give no price in AED for any of this: Beeline quotes UZS only.

Ucell’s tariff page shows its Bor line, from “New Bor 80”: 100GB for 80,000 UZS a month (Ucell, 19 Oct 2026). It shows no tourist plan, and we could not confirm that Ucell connects foreigners to Bor.

A local SIM card, a globe with a roaming arc and a smartphone for a data eSIM
Three ways to get online in Uzbekistan: a local SIM, a roaming pack on your UAE line or a data eSIM

What does a week in Uzbekistan cost on e&, du or Virgin Mobile?

du postpaid sells the lowest-priced week for Uzbekistan on a UAE line: 5GB for AED 70.00. e& prepaid asks AED 100.00 for 4GB (until 10 Jan 2027, normally 2GB), and Virgin Mobile AED 100.00 for 2GB. Uzbekistan is in the main roaming zone of all three operators (e&, 19 Oct 2026; du, 19 Oct 2026; Virgin Mobile, 19 Oct 2026).

More data costs more: 10GB for a week is AED 100.00 on du postpaid and AED 200.00 on Virgin Mobile. du’s unlimited week costs AED 200.00, and we found no published daily limit for it, so read its fair-use terms in the du app first. Virgin’s free One Country pass does not help here: Uzbekistan is not one of its 34 countries (15 Oct 2026). Pack rules: e& Weekly Data and du postpaid 5GB weekly.

Our Uzbekistan plan is data-only and runs on Unitel 4G, a local network. Its unlimited data lasts 3, 5, 7 or 15 days, at full speed up to 3GB a day, then 1 Mbps: a week costs AED 104.99, about AED 15.00 a day. Past 15 days, a GB plan fits, such as AED 68.99 for 10GB over 30 days. Charged in AED by JET SHARING (USA). Your bank may add a foreign-transaction fee; see how to pay.

A top-up goes on the same eSIM from your order page, with no new QR code to scan. Our eSIMs do not provide service in the UAE. Keep your UAE SIM switched on for SMS; e& and Virgin Mobile do not charge for SMS you receive abroad, while calls you receive cost a per-minute rate (keep your UAE number).

A week in Uzbekistan: roaming pack vs eSIM

2.5× cheaper than prepaid packs

5.6 GB for 7 days (0.8 GB a day, social media and photos): the cheapest prepaid way to get it, and postpaid where it is lower.

e& roaming, prepaid7 GB · 7 days AED 150.00
du roaming, prepaid10 GB · 7 days AED 200.00
Virgin Mobile roaming, prepaid10 GB · 7 days AED 200.00
du roaming, postpaid10 GB · 7 days AED 100.00
eSIM in Uzbekistan2 × 3 GB · 30 days AED 57.98

On roaming your UAE number also takes calls and SMS; the eSIM is data only. Packs at the operator’s AED price, as listed on 19 Oct 2026; the eSIM at its AED price on 22 Oct, charged in AED by card. Work out your own trip.

Do you have to register your phone’s IMEI in Uzbekistan?

Yes, once the phone takes a local SIM. UZIMEI, the state registry, charges 88,000 UZS if the IMEI is registered within 30 days of connecting a local operator’s SIM (UZIMEI, 19 Oct 2026). Otherwise, “the subscriber will be denied access to the services of local GSM mobile operators” until the IMEI is registered.

The same fee table lists non-resident individuals at 0 UZS “When using a foreign SIM (roaming)”, so your UAE SIM on a roaming pack needs no registration. The registry’s pages do not mention foreign data eSIMs, so it is not confirmed that ours counts as roaming; check uzimei.uz before you rely on it. You can register on uzimei.uz, in the MyGov and Birda apps or at an operator office.

Mobiuz gives a different deadline and fee for foreigners on its own IMEI page (Mobiuz, 19 Oct 2026). The sources disagree, so we quote the registry’s figures.

Worked case, our arithmetic from the Beeline and UZIMEI pages: a week on the 7GB add-on is 30,000 UZS, and with the IMEI fee the first week comes to 118,000 UZS, of which the fee is about three-quarters. A month on the 150GB add-on is 150,000 UZS, or 238,000 UZS with the fee, and the fee’s share drops to about 37%, per Beeline and UZIMEI prices. Neither total includes the Hello plan’s own fee, which Beeline’s page does not show.

When is a local SIM the better buy in Uzbekistan?

An Uzbekistan SIM card from Beeline is the better buy for a stay of a month or more with a local number. Incoming calls on Hello are free, and 150GB plus a 75GB bonus costs 150,000 UZS for 30 days. Budget for the 88,000 UZS IMEI fee, and bring an international passport to connect.

For up to 15 days of unlimited data, our eSIM is the better buy. Install it before you fly; it connects when you land in Uzbekistan, and its days start at that first connection. You never put a local operator’s SIM in the phone. It has no Uzbek number, so a local app that checks you by SMS code cannot reach it.

Our Asia regional plan covers 18 destinations, and Uzbekistan is not one of them. For Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan on one trip, see the Kazakhstan SIM card guide. Unlimited plans for other countries are on unlimited eSIM plans.

Check before you fly

What if the eSIM doesn’t work when you land in Uzbekistan?

Check four settings, in this order, before you write to us.

The first is the line for mobile data. On iPhone it is Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data; on Android, the SIM manager. Pick the travel line there; your UAE line stays on for calls and SMS, with its mobile data off.

The second is data roaming, for the eSIM line only. The eSIM is a foreign profile, so the phone treats Uzbekistan as roaming for it.

The third is the APN. On this plan it sets itself, so leave it alone; you don’t need to type one.

The fourth is a restart. Restart the phone or switch airplane mode on and off, and let it find Unitel; this can take a few minutes after you leave the plane.

Still no data? Write to us on WhatsApp or at support@esimgo.ae with your order number, or go through the no-signal checklist. Do not delete the eSIM to “try again”: a deleted profile usually cannot be installed twice from the same code. If the eSIM doesn't work and it isn't your phone's fault, we refund the payment whether or not it was installed.

What I’d choose (and when NOT to buy the eSIM)

For a week of maps, rides and messaging I’d take 1 GB for 7 days, AED 14.99. For two weeks or more, with photos and social media, I’d go for 5 GB for 30 days, AED 40.99. If you video-call and stream every day, take the unlimited plan for 7 days, AED 104.99, with 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps.

I would not recommend the eSIM in three cases. If you need calls or SMS on your UAE number every day, roaming on your e&, du or Virgin Mobile line keeps them, and some packs include minutes (compare the packs). If your phone has no eSIM or is locked to one operator, it cannot take the plan: check your model first. And if your group travels together all day and shares one connection, a pocket Wi-Fi can cover everyone.

FAQ

Do I need to register my phone in Uzbekistan?

With a local SIM, yes: UZIMEI charges 88,000 UZS if the IMEI is registered within 30 days of connecting the SIM (uzimei.uz, 19 Oct 2026). A non-resident on a foreign SIM in roaming pays 0 UZS. The registry’s pages do not mention foreign data eSIMs.

Is there a tourist SIM card in Uzbekistan?

Yes: Beeline’s Hello plans are for “foreigners, tourists and guests visiting Uzbekistan”, with data add-ons from 10,000 UZS (beeline.uz, 19 Oct 2026). Mobiuz keeps its Tourist SIM in the tariff archive, and Ucell’s tariff page shows no tourist plan.

What does Beeline Uzbekistan ask a foreigner for?

An international passport. Beeline’s document list for foreign citizens names an “international passport and IPIN (if available)” or a residence permit (beeline.uz, 19 Oct 2026). The phone then needs IMEI registration, 88,000 UZS within 30 days.

Is there an unlimited eSIM for Uzbekistan?

Yes: unlimited data for 3, 5, 7 or 15 days, at full speed up to 3GB a day, then 1 Mbps. The plan is data-only on Unitel 4G. For 30 days, choose a GB plan.

Will my UAE SIM use data in Uzbekistan without a pack?

No. Your e&, du or Virgin Mobile line won’t use mobile data abroad unless you add a roaming pack (e& lets you unlock pay-as-you-go data for 24 hours by SMS). For Uzbekistan, du postpaid’s 5GB week is AED 70.00.
