Top up a travel eSIM: more data without a new QR code

Smartphone with a data bar filling up on its screen

Yes, you can top up your eSIM on most plans from your order page (the link in the order e-mail): open “Top up this plan”, tap “See top-ups” and pay by card in AED. The pack goes to the eSIM already on your phone, with no new QR code, and starts when the current one runs out or expires.

How do you top up a travel eSIM?

You top up your eSIM in four steps on your order page. The list of packs is live for your eSIM, so you only see what it can take (our order page, 19 Oct 2026).

StepWhat you seeWhat it does
1Block “Top up this plan”First block in the side column; on a phone it sits below the QR code and Balance
2Button “See top-ups”Loads the packs offered for your eSIM
3Pack cardsDays, GB and AED per GB (on unlimited: ∞ “with a daily high-speed limit”), price in AED
4Tap a packOpens the card payment page; the AED price on the card is the amount charged

If your eSIM has no packs, the page says “No top-ups are available for this eSIM.” Buy a new plan instead. If the list fails, it says “The top-up list did not load. Please try again in a minute.”

If the page asks for your order e-mail, type it and the block appears. Read Balance before you buy: how to check data left.

Which plans can’t be topped up?

Most plans can; for some destinations only GB plans can, and a few have no top-up. The country page tells you which before you buy (our site, 19 Oct 2026).

“Top up without a new QR code” means every plan there takes a top-up. “Top up GB plans without a new QR code” means only plans sold by GB do, not unlimited plans (with a daily high-speed limit). Turkey and Qatar are in this group. A few destinations show no line because they have no top-up at all.

When does the new pack start counting?

The new pack starts only when the current one runs out or expires, and its days count from that moment. The order page says: “The new pack waits in line behind the current one and starts on its own when the current one runs out or expires; its days count from that moment.” (our order page, 19 Oct 2026)

So a top-up adds no GB and no days to the pack you are using. With 3GB and two days left, the new pack begins once those 3GB are used or the two days end. We have not checked the queue on a live top-up, so if the start date matters, ask support@esimgo.ae before you pay.

After you pay, the pack goes to the same eSIM with nothing to install. A receipt arrives by e-mail, and Balance on your order page shows what is left.

A month away: top up or buy a second plan?

Top up when your eSIM’s list has a pack that fits; buy a second plan when the list is empty or the plan can’t take one. A top-up stays on the eSIM you have, while a second plan is a new order with its own QR code to install.

Turkey and Qatar unlimited plans (full speed up to 3GB a day, then 1 Mbps) can’t be topped up, so pick the full length when you buy. For a month in Nepal, Sri Lanka or Egypt, buy two packs or top up: there is no 30-day unlimited plan for these countries (our catalogue, 15 Oct 2026).

Unlimited plans in Egypt last 3, 5 or 10 days, and in Nepal 3, 5, 7 or 10, at full speed up to 3GB a day, then 1 Mbps. Sri Lanka has no unlimited plan, and Lebanon plans stop at 10GB. The unlimited eSIM page explains the daily limit.

How is a top-up paid?

You pay by card, in AED, on the payment page that opens from the pack card. The price is set at the day’s exchange rate, and the AED amount on the card is the amount charged. If the rate changes before you pay, the page says “The price has been updated: AED X. Tap again to pay this amount.”

Charged in AED by JET SHARING (USA). Your bank may add a foreign-transaction fee. More on payment: how to pay.

A coupon does not apply to top-ups: one coupon works per purchase, on eSIM plans only.

FAQ

Can I top up my travel eSIM?

Yes, on most plans. Open your order page from the e-mail, find “Top up this plan” and tap “See top-ups”. If the list says “No top-ups are available for this eSIM”, buy a new plan instead.

Do I need to reinstall the eSIM to top up?

No. The top-up goes to the profile already installed, with no new QR code to scan. Nothing changes on your phone, and Balance on your order page shows what is left.

Which plans cannot be topped up?

Some plans cannot. Unlimited plans for Turkey and Qatar (full speed up to 3GB a day, then 1 Mbps) cannot be topped up, and a few destinations have no top-up at all. The country page says which line applies to its plans.

Can I use a coupon on a top-up?

No. One coupon works per purchase, and it does not apply to top-ups. The coupon works on eSIM plans only.

Can I top up after my plan expires?

We cannot confirm that yet. Write to support@esimgo.ae before you buy, and tell us your order number.
