Delete or turn off a travel eSIM: when it’s safe, and what you lose

Small eSIM chip lifting out of a smartphone screen

Don’t delete the travel eSIM before your trip ends. Turn the line off instead, and delete it only when Balance on your order page shows “Expired” or “Data used up”. To reinstall it or move it to another phone, contact support first at support@esimgo.ae. The QR code stays on your order page, but we have not confirmed it scans twice.

Turn off or delete: what each one does

Turning a line off keeps the eSIM on the phone and stops the phone using it. To remove eSIM profiles for good, you delete them. On OnePlus, getting a deleted eSIM back means scanning a QR code again.

ActionWhat happens on the phoneCan you undo it?
Turn the line offThe eSIM stays installed; the phone stops using itYes. OnePlus has Enable/Disable in the same menu
Delete the eSIMThe eSIM is removed from the phoneOnePlus says scan the QR code or enter the code again. For our eSIM, not confirmed

On OnePlus both sit side by side: Settings > SIM card & mobile data > Manage eSIM Card, then Enable/Disable or Delete (OnePlus Support, 16 Oct 2026).

How to remove eSIM from iPhone: open Settings > Cellular and tap the eSIM line (Apple Support UAE, 15 Oct 2026). We have no verified names for Apple’s off and delete buttons, so we print none. First-time setup is in the iPhone install guide.

Opened without the link from your order e-mail, the order page first asks for “the e-mail you used for the order”, then shows the QR code and the install code. Visible does not mean reusable: treat a deleted travel eSIM as gone until support says otherwise.

When it’s safe to delete the eSIM

Delete the eSIM when the status chip under Balance reads “Expired” or “Data used up”. Before that, turn the line off. Refresh reloads Balance (order page, 16 Oct 2026).

Status chip on the order pageWhat to do
ActiveKeep the eSIM. Turn the line off if you don’t need it now
Not activated yetDon’t delete. If it never connects, ask for a refund
Expired, or Data used upSafe to delete
Status unknown, or “Balance not available yet”Tap Refresh after a minute, then ask support

The refund rule is separate: you can get a refund within 30 days of purchase if the eSIM has not connected to any network. Deleting an eSIM that has already connected does not bring it back under this rule. Details: check what is left.

Mid-trip deletion is the costly mistake. We have no confirmed way to reinstall travel eSIM profiles, so a delete on day 3 of 7 can leave you without data until support answers.

New phone: talk to support before you delete

Before you transfer eSIM to a new iPhone, or move from iPhone to Android or Android to iPhone, e-mail support. One message beats a wrong delete.

Apple’s eSIM page (published 17 Sep 2026) describes moving a carrier’s line from one iPhone to another (Apple Support UAE). We don’t promise that eSIM Quick Transfer or any other transfer works for our travel eSIM. Don’t factory-reset the old phone either: on OnePlus, “Erase all data” with “Clear data and eSIM information” deletes the eSIM too (OnePlus Support, 16 Oct 2026).

Note the status chip on your order page first. Then e-mail support@esimgo.ae with your order number, the e-mail you used to buy, both phone models and the status. WhatsApp works too, from the contact page.

FAQ
