A Canada SIM card for a tourist is a Lucky Mobile eSIM at CAD 25 a month for 4GB or a chatr plan at CAD 35 a month for 30GB with auto-pay, both with a Canadian number (16 Oct 2026). From the UAE, a week of roaming data costs AED 100.00 on e& prepaid or du postpaid (15 Oct 2026, 15 Oct 2026), and a data eSIM on starts at AED 25.99 for 1GB and 3 days.

Data in Canada from the UAE: the options side by side

From the UAE you can get data in Canada four ways: a Canada SIM card from Lucky Mobile or chatr from CAD 25 a month, a roaming pack on your UAE line from AED 100.00 a week, Virgin’s One Country pass free on 20GB+ plans, or our data eSIM with a price in AED from AED 25.99. Only the Canadian eSIMs come with a Canadian number.

Pack prices as listed by e&, du and Virgin Mobile on 15 Oct 2026; AED per GB is our derivation (price ÷ GB). eSIM prices are in AED at the day’s rate: your card is charged exactly that amount.

Your e&, du or Virgin Mobile line won’t use mobile data abroad unless you add a roaming pack (e& lets you unlock pay-as-you-go data for 24 hours by SMS).

Our Canada eSIM uses ’s local network on LTE, so even on a 4G/5G phone expect 4G, not 5G. Ten GB for 30 days costs AED 88.99; the 7-day unlimited data plan costs AED 129.99 (about AED 18.57 a day) at full speed up to 3GB a day, then 1 Mbps. Install before you fly; it connects when you land in Canada. Our eSIMs are for use outside the UAE; they do not provide service in the UAE. Charged in AED by JET SHARING (USA). Your bank may add a foreign-transaction fee; see how to pay. Plans: Canada eSIM plans; top-up is possible.

Lucky Mobile and chatr tourist eSIMs: 30 days with a number

A Canada SIM card for tourists at Lucky Mobile is a 30-day plan with talk, text and data: 4GB at CAD 25 or 25GB at CAD 35. chatr, on the Rogers network, lists 5GB to 30GB at CAD 25 to CAD 35 a month, all with unlimited Canada-wide talk (both 16 Oct 2026, Canadian dollars).

Sources: Lucky Mobile, chatr tourist eSIM and chatr plans (16 Oct 2026). CAD per GB is our arithmetic on the listed data; chatr does not say whether the listed GB includes its auto-pay bonus. Dollars are not converted to AED.

Lucky Mobile asks for an eSIM-compatible phone that works on its network and a credit card; its order form asks “What province are you landing in?”. chatr says “Get an eSIM in minutes, before or after you land”, calls the eSIM “Free”, and sells a SIM or eSIM at Toronto Pearson and Montréal-Trudeau airports. We could not confirm whether either accepts a UAE-issued card or adds tax at checkout.

The catch is the 30-day length. A one-week trip on Lucky’s 4GB plan pays CAD 25 for a month, or CAD 3.57 for each of the 7 days you travel (our arithmetic); chatr’s plans are monthly too. A Canadian line pays off when you need a local number or stay a month.

Their plans include a Canadian number. Our eSIMs for Canada are data-only — keep your UAE number on your main SIM for calls and SMS.

A local SIM card, a globe with a roaming arc and a smartphone for a data eSIM
Three ways to get online in Canada: a local SIM, a roaming pack on your UAE line or a data eSIM

e&, du and Virgin Mobile in Canada: a week and One Country

Canada sits in the main roaming zone of e&, du and Virgin Mobile UAE: AED 100.00 buys 7 days at e& prepaid (4GB until 10 Jan 2027) or du postpaid (10GB), and Virgin’s One Country pass is AED 0.00 on a plan of 20GB or more (15 Oct 2026, 15 Oct 2026, 15 Oct 2026).

Canada is on Virgin’s One Country list (34 countries on the page, 15 Oct 2026). You get one country a month with your plan’s data, and the pass “won’t auto renew”: re-activate it every month in the app.

du’s 10GB weekly bundle costs AED 200.00 on prepaid against AED 100.00 on postpaid. du’s FAQ says data-only bundles can be bought up to 60 days ahead and “will only be activated during your travel”, but du lists its postpaid weekly bundles with “Immediate activation upon purchase”. Buy it shortly before you fly, and check the activation note in the du app.

du also sells a travel eSIM for Canada, from US$3 (about AED 11.02) for 1GB and 7 days (du, 15 Oct 2026).

Keep your UAE SIM switched on for SMS; e& and Virgin Mobile don’t charge for SMS you receive abroad; calls you receive are charged per minute. du doesn’t publish a price for SMS you receive abroad — check with du. See keep your UAE number.

A week in Canada: roaming pack vs eSIM

5.6 GB for 7 days (0.8 GB a day, social media and photos): the cheapest prepaid way to get it, and postpaid where it is lower.

On roaming your UAE number also takes calls and SMS; the eSIM is data only. Packs at the operator’s AED price, as listed on 15 Oct 2026; the eSIM at its AED price on 17 Oct, charged in AED by card. Work out your own trip.

Canada and the US on one trip

A Toronto and New York trip takes two of our eSIMs: we sell Canada and USA plans separately, and each works only in its own country. ’s U.S. Pass, from US$25 for 7 days plus taxes and fees, adds “5GB of high-speed data while in Mexico and Canada (activation required)”, and T-Mobile says to complete the purchase while in the United States (16 Oct 2026).

Install both of our eSIMs at home: validity starts on the first connection in each country, so the US plan’s days do not run while you are in Toronto.

The U.S. Pass’s 5GB in Canada is a side allowance next to its 50GB of premium data in the US, so plan on 5GB for the Canadian leg. The US side: USA SIM card guide.

Check before you fly

What if the eSIM doesn’t work when you land in Canada?

Check four settings, in this order, before you write to us.

The first is the line for mobile data. On iPhone it is Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data; on Android, the SIM manager. Pick the travel line there; your UAE line stays on for calls and SMS, with its mobile data off.

The second is data roaming, for the eSIM line only. The eSIM is a foreign profile, so the phone treats Canada as roaming for it.

The third is the APN. On this plan it sets itself, so leave it alone; you don’t need to type one.

The fourth is a restart. Restart the phone or switch airplane mode on and off, and let it find Bell; this can take a few minutes after you leave the plane.

Still no data? Write to us on WhatsApp or at support@esimgo.ae with your order number, or go through the no-signal checklist. Do not delete the eSIM to “try again”: a deleted profile usually cannot be installed twice from the same code. If the eSIM doesn't work and it isn't your phone's fault, we refund the payment whether or not it was installed.

What I’d choose (and when NOT to buy the eSIM)

For a week of maps, rides and messaging I’d take 3 GB for 7 days, AED 40.99. For two weeks or more, with photos and social media, I’d go for 5 GB for 15 days, AED 66.99. If you video-call and stream every day, take the unlimited plan for 7 days, AED 129.99, with 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps.

I would not recommend the eSIM in three cases. If you need calls or SMS on your UAE number every day, roaming on your e&, du or Virgin Mobile line keeps them, and some packs include minutes (compare the packs). If your phone has no eSIM or is locked to one operator, it cannot take the plan: check your model first. And if your group travels together all day and shares one connection, a pocket Wi-Fi can cover everyone.

FAQ

Can I get a Canadian eSIM before I land?

Yes. chatr says “Get an eSIM in minutes, before or after you land” and calls the eSIM “Free”, and Lucky Mobile’s order form asks which province you are landing in (16 Oct 2026). Ours installs before you fly and connects when you land in Canada.

Do Canadian tourist plans include a number?

Yes. Lucky Mobile’s 30-day plans include talk, text and data, and chatr’s plans list unlimited Canada-wide talk (16 Oct 2026). Our Canada eSIMs have no number, minutes or SMS, so keep your UAE SIM in the phone for calls and SMS.

Is Canada in Virgin One Country?

Yes. Canada is on Virgin Mobile UAE’s list of 34 countries for One Country, free with plans of 20GB or more. You pick one country a month and re-activate it each month in the app, because the pass does not renew by itself.

One plan for Canada and the US?

Not on our country plans. We sell Canada and USA eSIMs separately, so a trip to both needs two. ’s U.S. Pass lists 5GB of high-speed data in Canada, but you can only buy it after you land in the United States (16 Oct 2026).

Does my UAE SIM use data in Canada without a pack?

No. Your e&, du or Virgin Mobile line won’t use mobile data abroad unless you add a roaming pack. e& lets you unlock pay-as-you-go data for 24 hours by SMS, then blocks it again; du and Virgin Mobile offer no pay-as-you-go data.
