Jordan SIM card from the UAE: Orange visitor line, roaming or eSIM
A Jordan SIM card from Orange costs JD 10 for 10 days with 30GB and 20 international minutes, tax included (16 Oct 2026). On your UAE line, du postpaid sells 10GB for 7 days at AED 100.00 (15 Oct 2026), and Virgin Mobile UAE’s One Country pass covers Jordan free on plans of 20GB and up. A data-only Jordan eSIM on
Zain starts at AED 15.99 for 1GB and 7 days. We sell travel eSIMs, so we have an interest here, and eSIM Go is not affiliated with e&, du, Virgin Mobile UAE or Orange Jordan.

Data in Jordan from the UAE: the options side by side
A UAE resident has three routes to Jordan: an Orange Visitors line from JD 10, a roaming pack on your own number, or a data eSIM installed before you fly. Jordan is in the main roaming zone of e&, du and Virgin Mobile UAE (15 Oct 2026), so price, minutes and trip length decide, not coverage.
| Option | Price | What you need | Weak point |
|---|---|---|---|
| e& (Etisalat), du or Virgin Mobile roaming pack | AED 35.00 to AED 1,200.00 a pack from about AED 15.00 per GB | Roaming switched on and a pack bought before you fly | Costs more per GB than the eSIM |
| Pocket Wi-Fi router | Not verified | Collect it, keep it charged and return it | One connection for the group, only while you stay together |
| Local SIM bought on arrival | Not verified | A free SIM slot and a shop after landing | On a one-slot phone it replaces your UAE SIM |
| Travel eSIM from this site | from AED 15.99 by card; from AED 8.00 per GB | An eSIM phone that is not locked to one operator | Data only: no calls or SMS on your UAE number |
Pack prices as listed by e&, du and Virgin Mobile on 15 Oct 2026; AED per GB is our derivation (price ÷ GB). eSIM prices are in AED at the day’s rate: your card is charged exactly that amount.
eSIM for Jordan: most chosen plans
Your card is charged exactly AED 15.99; the charge is in UAE dirhams. The seller is registered outside the UAE, so some banks may still add a foreign-merchant fee — how card payment works.
What it costs per day
Plan price in AED ÷ days, at the rate of 17 Oct. A longer plan usually costs less per day: pick by your trip length, not by the lowest daily price.
Orange Jordan Visitors lines: 10 to 90 days, minutes to the UAE
Orange Jordan’s four Visitors lines run from JD 10 for 10 days to JD 30 for 90 days, tax included (16 Oct 2026). The 10- and 15-day lines add 20 international minutes, and the Visitors 10 page names the United Arab Emirates among their destinations.
| Line | Data | Days | JD, tax included | about JD per GB |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Visitors 10 | 30GB | 10 | 10.00 | 0.33 |
| Visitors 15 | 45GB | 15 | 15.00 | 0.33 |
| Visitors 30 | 90GB | 30 | 21.30 | 0.24 |
| Visitors 90 | 250GB | 90 | 30.00 | 0.12 |
Source: Orange Jordan eShop, Visitors plans (16 Oct 2026). The cards print “/month” beside the days. The per-GB column is our arithmetic; we do not convert dinars.
Orange says “Purchase your Orange Visitor mobile eSIM before your trip to Jordan”. Visitors 30 adds “5G service free”; the pages we read state no minutes for the 30- and 90-day lines. Outside the bundle Orange charges “2 piasters/minutes to all local networks” and “4 fils/MB”, so 1,000 MB would be JD 4.00 (our arithmetic), 12 times the Visitors 10 rate per GB.
On a 4-day trip the JD 10 Jordan SIM card costs JD 2.50 a day, against JD 1.00 over all 10 days (our arithmetic). We could not confirm Orange’s document rules or an airport counter, and we read no
Zain Jordan or Umniah prices, so check Orange’s shop page before you pay.

e&, du and Virgin Mobile in Jordan: a week and One Country
A week of data for Jordan costs AED 100.00 on e& prepaid (4GB until 10 Jan 2027), Virgin Mobile UAE (2GB) and du postpaid (10GB), as listed by e& (15 Oct 2026), Virgin (15 Oct 2026) and du (15 Oct 2026).
Here the operator wins: Jordan is on the Virgin One Country list (34 countries on the page, 15 Oct 2026), and the pass is free with Virgin plans of 20GB and up. You choose one country a month, and the pass “won’t auto renew. Don’t forget to re-activate every month.”
du’s data-only bundles “will only be activated during your travel”. For the postpaid 10GB bundle du’s API and FAQ disagree, so buy shortly before you fly and check the du app. For calls home there is the du roaming voice and data bundle: prepaid AED 100.00 gives 3GB and 30 minutes for 7 days, with minutes “To the UAE, locally while traveling, and to selected countries” (15 Oct 2026). Unlike the data-only bundles, it is “activated immediately at the time of purchase”, so buy it on the day you fly. du also sells a travel eSIM priced in US dollars: for Jordan, 10GB for 30 days is US$42, about AED 154.25 (du.ae/travelesim, 15 Oct 2026).
A week in Jordan: roaming pack vs eSIM
2× cheaper than prepaid packs Free on Virgin Mobile 20 GB+ plans5.6 GB for 7 days (0.8 GB a day, social media and photos): the cheapest prepaid way to get it, and postpaid where it is lower.
On roaming your UAE number also takes calls and SMS; the eSIM is data only. Packs at the operator’s AED price, as listed on 15 Oct 2026; the eSIM at its AED price on 17 Oct, charged in AED by card. Work out your own trip.
Your UAE number in Jordan: calls, SMS and the data line
Our Jordan eSIMs are data-only: no number, no minutes, no SMS. Your UAE SIM stays in the phone for calls and SMS, and e& charges AED 4.25 a minute to receive a call outside the GCC (15 Oct 2026).
Keep your UAE SIM switched on for SMS; e& and Virgin Mobile don’t charge for SMS you receive abroad; calls you receive are charged per minute. du doesn’t publish a price for SMS you receive abroad, so check with du. No operator page we read promises that bank SMS codes arrive abroad, so ask your bank. Calling the UAE from outside the GCC costs AED 9.50 a minute on e&, so a line with minutes pays off: Visitors 10 includes 20, the du bundle above 30. Setup: keep your UAE number.
Our Jordan eSIMs run on
Zain, a local network, with plans of 7/15/30 days, from 1GB at AED 15.99 to 20GB at AED 219.99; 10GB for 30 days is AED 79.99, about AED 2.67 a day (our arithmetic). There is no unlimited data plan. Each plan shows its price in AED as an exact amount. Charged in AED by JET SHARING (USA). Your bank may add a foreign-transaction fee; see how to pay.
Our eSIMs are for use outside the UAE; they do not provide service in the UAE. Install before you fly; it connects when you land in Jordan, and the days count from then. Top-up is possible. Android needs the Jordan APN set by hand, iPhone sets it automatically (APN settings). If the eSIM has not connected to any network, you can get a refund within 30 days of purchase.
Check before you fly
What if the eSIM doesn’t work when you land in Jordan?
Check four settings, in this order, before you write to us.
The first is the line for mobile data. On iPhone it is Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data; on Android, the SIM manager. Pick the travel line there; your UAE line stays on for calls and SMS, with its mobile data off.
The second is data roaming, for the eSIM line only. The eSIM is a foreign profile, so the phone treats Jordan as roaming for it.
The third is the APN. The plan does not set it by itself here: add globaldata on Android under the eSIM line’s mobile network settings.
The fourth is a restart. Restart the phone or switch airplane mode on and off, and let it find Zain JO; this can take a few minutes after you leave the plane.
Still no data? Write to us on WhatsApp or at support@esimgo.ae with your order number, or go through the no-signal checklist. Do not delete the eSIM to “try again”: a deleted profile usually cannot be installed twice from the same code. If the eSIM doesn't work and it isn't your phone's fault, we refund the payment whether or not it was installed.
What I’d choose (and when NOT to buy the eSIM)
For a week of maps, rides and messaging I’d take 1 GB for 7 days, AED 15.99. For two weeks or more, with photos and social media, I’d go for 5 GB for 30 days, AED 75.99.
I would not recommend the eSIM in three cases. If you need calls or SMS on your UAE number every day, roaming on your e&, du or Virgin Mobile line keeps them, and some packs include minutes (compare the packs). If your phone has no eSIM or is locked to one operator, it cannot take the plan: check your model first. And if your group travels together all day and shares one connection, a pocket Wi-Fi can cover everyone.
